Counties Seek Applicants for Two Manager Positions
Carver County and Hennepin County each have a vacancy coming up on the board of managers for the Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District (RPBCWD). They are seeking applicants for the positions which begin on August 1, 2024. All applicants must live within RPBCWD (find your watershed district).
Five managers govern the RPBCWD, which manages, protects, and restores water resources. Four managers are appointed by the Hennepin County Commissioners and one by the Carver County Commissioners. Managers serve three-year terms.
If interested in applying for a manager position, please use the application from the county in which you live. Information on how to apply for each county may be found below.
To be eligible to apply for a manager position, you must live in the Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District. Find out if you live in the district: rpbcwd.org/map.
Apply for the Carver County seat
To be eligible for the Carver County seat, an applicant must live within Carver County and RPBCWD. This area is a portion of Chanhassen (see map).
The deadline to apply is Sunday, May 5, 2024. Carver County residents, who reside within the RPBCWD boundary, should apply by visiting the Carver County Advisory Committees webpage. Look for the "Advisory Committees Online Application." You may also download a PDF version of the application or call the county directly at 952-361-1503 to receive a printed copy. You can also access the application through the City of Chanhassen.
Applicants are required to interview with the Chanhassen City Council on May 13, 2024. A second interview may be required before the Carver County Board.

The Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District (RPBCWD) encompasses approximately 50 square miles of land that drains into the three creeks that make up its name. Seven cities including Bloomington, Chanhassen, Chaska, Deephaven, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, and Shorewood overlap the watershed district boundary.
RPBCWD employs ten full-time staff to implement its projects and programs. Primary areas of work include water quality monitoring, wetland monitoring, permitting, project cost share, community engagement, and capital improvement projects.
